Assembly + Care: Mats

Set up with ease. Our mats are designed for simple setup and assembly. Follow our step-by-step guides so you can start enjoying your space in no time.

Play Mat Assembly

All of our play mats are comprised of deluxe 2ft x 2ft tiles which each include edging bonders for a truly rug-like look. Pro tip: Because of our flexible puzzle-piece design, multiple play mats can be connected to create a different size than what's listed.

Play mats are designed modularly to fit a variety of sizes and spaces. All of our prints are hand-illustrated and there may be some areas where pattern alignment is varied - just like art in real life, we embrace the imperfections!

Before you get started

1. Before placing your mat on the floor, clean and dry the area completely

2. Remove the mats from all packaging.

3. Wipe down the face and the back of the mats with cloth and either a light solution of dish soap and water or a light solution of basic white vinegar and water.

4. If using a dish soap cleaning solution, be sure to thoroughly wipe the mats with a damp cloth afterwards! Do not soak your tiles or use large amounts of water or cleaning solution.

5. With the foam (non-patterned) side facing up and tiles separated, let the play mat pieces dry completely in a well-ventilated area for 24 hours prior to assembly and use.

Note: failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the product or your flooring

Caring for your play mat

  • Cleaning Your Mat

To clean your play mat, use a sponge or cloth with mild soap and water and dry the mat completely. We ask that you refrain from using abrasive cleaning solutions like window cleaner, floor cleaner, acetone or alcohol. Using such cleaners may cause permanent damage to your play mat. Please do not clean your mat with a power vacuum.

  • For Smaller Spills

Wipe up smaller spills right away with a dry cloth. While most spills can wipe up easily with our cleaning instructions, cases of extreme dirt, paint spills and other heavily pigmented items may stain your mat and should be avoided. Do not soak play mat tiles or use large amounts of water or cleaning solution on your mat.

  • Dry Your Mat Completely

Always be sure to dry your mat completely after cleaning so you don’t allow any moisture to get trapped underneath. After cleaning underneath the mat, clean and dry the area completely before placing your mat back on the floor.

How to best use your play mat

  • Anywhere You Play

Our play mats make a great alternative to rugs in any space you need extra comfort and padding. We recommend setting up your play mat on hard flooring or low-pile carpet. You can anchor the play mat against a wall or with a heavy toy basket, but heavy furniture can leave indentations in the mat and should be avoided. If you prefer to use the mat in the center of the room, we suggest a standard size (4x6 or 6x8) non-slip rug pad.

  • Take Care With Your Floors

Flooring materials may undergo color changes over time as a result of exposure to light and air conditions. The placement of our play mat over your flooring may cause visible differences between covered and uncovered areas due to uneven exposure to these environmental conditions. To ensure appropriate use, always follow the care and maintenance guidelines from your flooring and finish manufacturers.

  • Safety First

Your children’s safety is our top priority. Our play mats are suitable for all ages (0+ months). Never leave children unattended and always use with adult supervision. For more safety information, click here.
